Forest Park Environmental Awareness Program

Description: The Forest Park Environmental Awareness Program is committed to fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility among citizens, businesses, institutions, and governmental agencies towards the enhancement of local, regional, and global environmental quality.  In order to achieve this mission, we are actively providing school outreach programs and community programs/events for the Greater Forest Park area.

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Facility Open to Public: No facility

Onsite Programs Available: No facility

Offsite Programs Available: Yes, we visit organizations within the Greater Forest Park area

Entrance Fees: No facility

Program Fees: No

Handicap Accessible: No facility

Teacher Training Workshops/Programs: Yes

Audiences: Pre-school to older adults

Program Topics: Energy, water, soil, air, pollution, solid waste management, wildlife and habitat preservation

Free Teacher Resources: Yes, Library Loan Program that contains resource/storybooks, videos and intact classroom presentations.  All materials can be loaned out over a 14-day period.

Community Service Opportunities: Yes, litter cleanups, storm drain stenciling, and curbside recycling recruitment.  Other community service projects can be coordinated for individual groups.
